I just wanted to send out a quick message adding one more joyous reason to knit. As you know, if you watched my "Why I Knit" video, one of the reasons I picked up knitting was due to the financial struggle of going out and purchasing birthday presents every year. However, as time passed, I began to not only appreciate knitting on birthdays because of the savings, but also because of the special essence in receiving something hand made.
Tomorrow is one of my best friend's birthday, and the only thing she wanted from me was a knitted toy. So I picked up my knitting needles and the five knitting books I own, and began flipping through them to find a pattern of a small creature that reflected what our friendship was and our goofy companionship (I will post a picture of my completed artwork upon completion).
Anyways, getting back on topic, I am writing this with the main point of gratitude to the art of knitting. It provides me with this joy I have in making my friend's birthday/holiday/random presents. In addition, it is a process that adds to my finger fitness and to the whole significance of the gift.
So I summon you, think about it, and decide....is it time for you to buy some knitting needles yet?

In school, we are reading Homer's The Odyssey in which I had to present Book 16 where we meet the character, Eumaeus, the "loyal swineherd". Here's what I think he looks like :)

Christmas Gifts for the Cousins
I made two of these scarves, one for each of my two first cousins. Although they took a VERY long time to make, in the end it was worth it to see them running around the house with them tied around their necks :).
As you can see...one of my cousins' name is Ella :)
I wrote each letter by knitting row by row and slowly creating each letter.
I made each tassel by looping short strands of yarn into the ends of the scarf.
To optimize ultimate comfort, I sewed in soft pink cloth into the back of the scarves :)

The Dinosaur Dynamic Duo
Sorry I haven't posted in a really long time! I have been caught up with WAAY too much extra-curricular school activities. Anyway, I just completed my second dinosaur!
"First there was one... and now there's two!"
I feel like I should be writing a Dr. Seuss book :)
Comment and share! :)

Christmas Chainsaw
Okay...so the title might seem a little scary...
But my father is an ice sculptor and I thought that this would be a great gift for him. The problem is...I don't own orange yarn...
Has anybody made this before and have any tips??

A Gift for my Father
I made this for my dad because it kind of represented a parent-child relationship and my father's favorite color is this blue.

Nessie
Although it looks simple, this is by far the hardest pattern I have ever followed. However, every single creature in this book is adorable and worth making.
